Who We Are
House of Love Group Home Incorporated is a minority-owned and operated, non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization that operates group homes for out-of-home care teens and those needing transitional housing. The organization was founded in 2003 and was incorporated in 2004. We collaborate with New Beginnings Are Possible Youth Center, Thrive Treatment Services, River of Life Family Enrichment Center, Above the Clouds, Convergence Resource Center, Care Net Pregnancy Center, Diamonds in the Rough, and Minority Christian Coaches Association to provide holistic services for youth involved in out of home care.
The House of Love Group Home program currently accepts and provides care to at risk/victimized/delinquent female residents from between the ages of 12 – 19 years of age. These youth are transitioning to adulthood often without the skills needed to successfully manage their lives on their own. This program coordinates a team of program staff and collaborating providers to work with the youth at an early age to ensure that participants are adequately equipped to function effectively in society. Guidance and support is provided to the youth. A Christian family atmosphere is modeled to reinforce good moral values in daily living. Through a collaborative effort ,we also work with youth ages 18 to 21. We provide transitional housing to these youth. Independent living services and living arrangements are designed to help youth 15 to 21 years of age gain the skills necessary for successful transition from out-of-home care to living independently in the community. Supervised housing for up to 18 months is provided to the youth in this age group to successfully transition them in the community. Community based supportive and supervised living arrangements where the youths are required to learn daily life skills, including child development, family budgeting, paying rent, health and nutrition, and other skills to promote their long-term economic independence and the well-being of their children if any. Needs are addressed for housing, educational social services, psychological services, health care, job readiness, transition to work, and spiritual health. Back to Top |
